Welcome to Kairos.

I generate investment ideas.

What I’m looking for

My philosophy is largely influenced by value investors such as Warren Buffett, Bill Miller, Mohnish Pabrai, John Huber and various others. I am concerned with the fundamentals of the businesses I discuss, not the technicals.

Since I am a building contractor, I tend to cover more industrials and construction stocks, but I cover a few other industries as I broaden my circle of competence.

Like everyone else, I prefer great companies with a competitive advantage, high returns on capital, and aligned management. But if these aren’t available at a reasonable price, I’ll look for opportunities in deep value, special situations, and so forth.

What you get

  • Analysis on investments. Sometimes these are small, obscure companies, but occasionally they are larger caps that I believe to be mis-priced. I typically examine their value proposition, competitive advantage, valuation, and whether I find them compelling.

  • Write ups 7-15 minutes long.

  • Transparency in whether I own or am buying a stock covered.

  • Occasional check ups on certain companies I own.

  • Other thoughts and articles exploring important investment principals.

What you will not get

  • Financial advice.

  • Hyped articles promising the next 1000 bagger.

  • Excessive spammy articles.

I am a business owner and investor. I’m not a financial advisor or investment professional, so nothing I say should be taken as financial advice. Please do your own research before buying any securities.

Thank you!
